Danish player Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field. It doesn't look good. They just suspended the game for a medical emergency.

If you want to understand it better with a loose but useful analogy, it's like the 3-second rule in the paint.

It gets rid of cherrypickers and gives the defense a tactical weapon.

One was a hustle play thats easy to get caught up in and the other was a stationary play that is basic American football.

Sports doesn't reward hustle for hustle's sake.

Sports sets the rule for competition so hustle means something when achievements are met within them.

You could just as easily argue Dee got caught up 'hustling'

Or any number of WRs who 'almost' make a circus catch or amazing run, except they touch the OOB boundary.

How many golfers lose big competitions because the ball takes a bad bounce, or hangs on the lip of the cup. They hustled, . . . they ALMOST achieved their objective, except under the rules.

You don't decide after the fact, in any sport, that the play was so pretty that the rules don't apply for a moment.

That's the capriciousness and excitement of sports.

We've survived much more capricious calls with as big or bigger consequence throughout sports.
