I walked by Kyler prior to a basketball game a while back and he conservatively came up to my nose.

I'm 6'0.

Its too dismissive of all of the success that the guy has had up to this point to assume that he's going to fail now just because he's 5'10". On the contrary I think he could actually be pretty good in the NFL if he's able to stay healthy. Height obviously matters for QB's, but it matters less and less as teams go with more shotgun sets and spread offense., With his particular skillset, coaches are going to have no problem getting him out of the pocket into situations where he can either pass or run. He has the chance to be really dangerous in that kind of offense.

Durability is obviously going to be a concern for him, but durability isn't always related to size. If you put Sammy Watkins and Tyreek Hill next to each other, who would you assume is more injury prone? There are obviously more factors at work when it comes to susceptibility to injury than just size. Sometimes actually the big guys like Gronk take more punishment because other plays can more easily square up on them and deliver a big hit.

He should send a portion of his first check to Russell Wilson though, as the fact that Wilson is successful in the league already is going to raise this Murray's draft stock by an entire round on its own. Coaches love to copy others, because then if the pick blows up in their faces they can at least say "Hey, we thought he was the next Russell Wilson." Its a subtle way to shift the blame onto someone else.

He’s a project at best at QB. Not a first round talent.

You're going to be very disappointed watching the draft when your project QB goes in the first 10 picks.

Not if he goes to a division rival. I’ll be stoked.

This is a tough call. He's 5-10 at best. If he can use his mobility like Mahomes to buy time to throw he has a chance. If he uses his mobility like RG3, same result as RG3.

How strong is his arm?

He does have a strong arm. I will give him that. Baseball definitely helped him there

I think you guys are missing the point because you keep looking at his height.

The NFL is setup now more than ever to protect the QB, and you need a QB who can deliver on the unscheduled stuff. Yes height matters, but There are some great examples recently why it isn’t the end all be all.

You need someone who can make plays, this kid can. He also has experience in Kliffs system.

Probably the most tantalizing prospect out of the draft this season- it will be interesting to see where Kyler ends up (some have him as high as #13 to the Phins). The concerns about Kyler's heights are legitimate- there just isn't a very good track record of quality quarterbacks that are smaller than 5'11. That being said with his athletic ability it's hard to write him completely off. Lamar Jackson to me is a much worse quarterback but it looks like Lamar is going to carve himself a career- although I would argue Lamar landed in maybe the perfect spot for his skill set.

I tend to lean that if Kyler is talented enough and can improve his ability to read a defense and progress through his reads, he can overcome a few inches (I wish I could overcome a few inches amiright!?).

I think the timing is absolutely perfect for him. He enters the draft following a year that his predecessor Mayfield had an excellent rookie season (and Mahomes helps by blowing out of the water the notion that Big 12 QBs can't succeed in the NFL) AND Lamar Jackson replaces Flacco and leads the Ravens to the playoffs.

A year ago today and there's no way his draft stock is where it is right now.
