Royals... They had been to two WS and close many others. The Chiefs had taken a chance on a first round QB in a draft where they couldn't miss and ended up missing.

Neither, but forced to choose one it would be the Royals run.

i say chiefs. its more likely 10 years ago that i believe one qb could put a team on his back and do what mahomes did than it would be for me to believe the royals who at that point had been a joke my entire life, might find a spark and get hot. in 09 we were not so far removed from some decent chiefs seasons and i was a mega homer.

There's so much more parity in the NFL I would have to say Chiefs. I still almost can't believe that Royals run happened. Regardless, both of these outcomes were beyond my wildest dreams.

The Chiefs, easily. The Royals have been horrific for 30 years with a three year exception, and won a WS with a middling starting staff and without an elite offense.

The Chiefs. At some point they would have had to take a QB. It’s hard to make one WS much less back to back ones while winning one of them. The Royals were awful and had little to no direction in a league where parity is not what it is in the NFL. They were the current Marlins of baseball, they drafted and developed talent only to trade or watch them walk in FA. The prospects of the Royals being WS good were very, very low.
