Nice Hoov. I’m going to check some of those out. Last time I was at Cromwell there were some strange people there.

Where the Ceasars Palace Sportsbook is is a pretty cool location for partying but I like the Bellagio sportsbook better if you want a little focus as it's tucked into the corner by the poker room.

Westgate is by far the most happening and most famous Sportsbook in Vegas. Huge party also inside the Theater at Westgate where all the games are on and theres drink specials, food specials, and lots of giveaways./ My radio station is there and we giveaway stuff too. Plus a betting station connected to the sportsbook is right outside the theater.
The Knights are also in town and thats a hockey experience like no other. Other than that, Downtown is cool for driks and food and a ton cheaper than the "Strip" Best steak for the buck is at Hugos Cellar at The 4 Queens and a place called Therapy DTLV has a steak encrusted in espresso beans and a huckleberry glaze that is TO DIE FOR. Pizza at Evel Pie is also killer, and overall the DTLV area is poppin BIGTIME If you need more info just ask. Ive lived here for almost 22 years. This ts a great city.

This is gonna sound stupid (and kinda is) but Twin Peaks has these massive freezer mugs you can buy and get re-filled cheap. And since Vegas is the weirdest place on earth, you can just wander around town with them.
So we'd roll our asses out of bed and the first thing we'd do is go over to Twin Peaks to fill up our gigantic beers for half of what they cost anywhere else. And since they were those freezable kinds, the beer actually got a frost top and then stayed cold for an hour or so. If you're near that area, it's not a bad way to get a couple of cheaper beers in. And mother of ****, those girls are 'bout naked in there. The Twin Peaks in KC is pretty skanky and mediocre, but the girls at the one in Vegas are just rocking straight up G-Strings with their asses hanging out and most of them could use their bodies to pay their rent. Not 'vegas' by any means, but not a bad pitstop to fill your beers before doing other stuff. We go during March Madness and it's a pretty good place to just sit around, drink cheap beers, get some appetizers and watch a round of games before going to the sportsbooks. I'll also recommend Top Golf; that was a good time but nothing Vegas specific by any stretch. There's a place where you can get 8 dollar frozen mixed drinks out near the sportsbooks that will !@#$ you up quickly and again - much cheaper than anywhere else. Wish I could remember where it was but we passed by it a dozen times and it's not small; something of an outdoor kiosk with taps on either side of the bar. It's a little like Tropical Liquers in CoMo if you ever hit that up. Oh, and if you go to O'Shea's and play Beer Pong until 3 in the morning and then wander about the new strip for awhile, there's a magic Gyro stand that appears in between knock-off sunglasses stands. They have the best Gyro ever and canned soda that convinces you it's time to walk out to the Vegas sign. Sadly, it's magic and could never be relocated so I can't tell you where it is. But I assure you it appears and convinces you to eat delicious Greek food and then do stupid things when you're drunk and tired.

We figured the old downtown would have some cool 'old school' cheap prime rib kinda dinners - natch. Best we could find was a little diner that I vaguely recall was near the Golden Nugget (but it probably wasn't...) Freemont was probably my favorite part of the trip but we were there over March Madness and St. Pats so of course the place was absolutely nuts; 4 different concerts going at various locales - too awesome. Don't go to the steakhouse inside Circus Circus - that was highly recommended and disappointing as hell. Atmosphere was really neat, don't get me wrong, but I actually had to salt my damn steak to get some flavor out of it and it wasn't exactly tough, but it wasn't better than what I could get at Texas Roadhouse. All in all, a thoroughly average steak from a place that sure appeared to be coasting on reputation.

I've rented a car the last couple times I've been out there, because it's cheap, and we typically want to do something non-strip oriented on Friday. Having a car can save you some coin on meals. For example we went to Red Rocks Casino for the breakfast buffet and bowled a few frames and it cost like 10 bucks.
This time we are doing Turo - got an X-5 that comes with VIP parking at all MGM properties. So we will probably use that. Plus I can get it at the airport and just leave it at the hotel since we are staying at an MGM property - Delano at Mandalay Bay. |
