I'm used to lack of hope. Actually, I haven't had "real" hope in this team for ... well ... my whole life. (Maybe a few years in the 90s, but even then I was guarded.)

I've learned a few things along the way, though. And one of those things is that life is fragile and often far too short. I can only speak for myself (obviously), but I believe enough in Mahomes and Wally together that I just want to enjoy the ride. I want to see how they work together to build something special. Because I believe they can. And also because I'm tired of not enjoying the team and the sport.

So I'm going to enjoy it this time around. Start to finish. And the finish could be awhile because I honestly believe that Mahomes and Wally can build something here that will last for years.

I'm not throwing objectivity out the window. None of us knows what will happen. But whatever happens, it's a ton better than what we've had for a long time. And it's actually quite exciting, to tell the truth.

So turn that frown upside down. And put a damn bullet in that unicorn's ear.

It's funny man. I'm not a pessimistic person for the most part. But when it comes to being a Chiefs fan, I just can't help it. I try to be a homer and I just can't ever sustain it. Something always happens. Sorry for being such a miserable SOB.

Not really. Not for long ... or for long periods, you might say. Know a lot of people from there, of course. Went to college with a lot of them. Used to perform and record in the area. Never put down roots, though. Ate at some great restaurants. Dated some stunning women. Really like KC. Always did, actually. I have nothing but wonderful memories of the place.

I am getting the context. YOU decided after the second half that all of a sudden Mahomes was legit and now we will waste his talent for infinity after his first loss.

You're selling the kid out before he even gets chance to MAKE the playoffs.

Bottom line is, you think the only way the Chiefs can beat the Patriots in the playoffs is at home, and as history shows, that's not a given.

I do not believe that EB, who worked out while on chemo, simple doesn't want to play.

You make it sound like he retired and just didn't tell anyone.

Yes, it's frustrating that he isn't playing, but I am disappointed that so many fans are just assassinating his character. He has always seemed to be a person of integrity and honor, and has always represented my team and my city with class and dignity.

Nice - Now I think I remember you'd mentioned that, once before. Nashville is ridiculous in the beautiful lady department, in droves really.

Actually, I decided after the win at Denver that he was legit enough to win it all right now.

And no, I'm not suggesting that he'll be wasted for all infinity. I just don't want the Chiefs to pass up a real opportunity to win it all. That's all.

Again, sorry for being such a downer. It wasn't that they lost, it was the totally deflating way in which they lost. Flashbacks to 2003 and 2013, it's like experiencing it all over again.

Don't read anything into that. I didn't say WHY he doesn't want to play. Just that I think it's ultimately his call. That's all.

Then the organization needs to quit peddling this bullshit that he's just a couple of weeks away in perpetuity.

I think at this point, it's apparent that the Chiefs expected him to be playing already. However, they left it up to him to decide and so far, he simply doesn't want to play. I think the little dust up recently in the media was the Chiefs subtly indicating that they're disappointed.

Furthermore, what he has DOES NOT heal.

The only permanent treatment is surgery, which he elected not to have. That means that treatment is an orthotic insert in his shoes and playing through pain. No amount of time is going to make him "better". It's all about how much pain he can handle. I don't see him playing at all.
He'll play when it matters.

If he could get through cancer, he can overcome this. I don't underestimate Berry. He is a fantastic, devoted human being to his team. I don't care what people say in how he is trying to steal a paycheck yada yada, the fact that he is with his team and helping his teammates, rooting for them speaks high volumes of his character. That and his ability to overcome a lot from the past.

With the right treatments and approach, I think he plays. Resting helps with the inflammation. There are so many approaches they could take to this. He could ice this thing down, rest reduce the swelling in the meantime man. Get massages, wear orthodics or pressure pads to take pressure off his heal, get him a walking boot, etc. Even if we have Berry for 2 to 3 games, that'll be enough. Just play when it matters most is all I ask.

And in the offseason, get surgery!

No need to apologize, you know I've felt the same way.

...but that loss didn't feel that way to me at all. And I was at both games.

We scored too fast.
