What did you get for Christmas?

Here in the Runkc household, I got a Samsung soundbar+ subwoofer for my new TV I got during Black Friday.

Pretty great gift! Currently watching one of my favorite action movies (Skyfall) and couldn’t be happier.

What was your favorite gift?

Yep. That's the weird thing about being married. I tell my wife what I want and then she gets it for me and vice versa. If there is something I really want that she doesn't get me, I go buy it 12/26 lol

GREAT Christmas....
  • That Ruger American chambered in 30-06 (but I got it last month, so it only .5 counts)
  • Garmin vivoActive HR (my other one bit the dust)
  • Scuba watch (a sign of things to come)
  • Electric stirring coffee mug (for my daily matcha tea)
  • 360-degree propane tank heater for tailgates.

We don't do gifts any more, but I made a nice dinner of this:

Huge crab legs with melted butter.
Cheesy asparagus: http://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe...aragus-recipe/
Holiday apple salad: http://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe...-salad-recipe/
Milk and cookies shots: http://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe...-shots-recipe/

The apple salad may have been the star of the show. The homemade dressing was awesome.

I hate Christmas also.

Wife and I decided before we ever even got engaged that we would stop giving each other gifts and go on a trip or do something to the house or something tangible we’d both want. Not some shit gift that the other one says they like but really doesn’t.

Sans kids who deserve the fantasy of Santa, that's solid... But I'd also offer that it has to be something you want, not something that you need.

Doing it wrong.

I pick something that's on sale and talk her into needing it for Christmas and bam she's happy every year. Women are easy to persuade.

Wife and I don't exchange gifts. I have some gift cards, a bottle of good booze some sock hats and a healthy family. I'll take brodeowanian to the big town this week and buy something together that we both want.

I'm a giver, I'd rather not receive gifts for the most part. I have what I need

I did get the gift of blood and tears though...took the kids out to pull on a sled behind the four wheeler......dog was chasing them around for a while and then decided to jump in front and some heads and faces mashed together. Guess they got the gift of "do what dad says when he tells you to kennel the dogs"
