Push button start cars and cold weather

I am going to ramble through this.

It is going to be cold. ****ing Cold.
New cars have a push button start-will they always start???
How to you "crank them" if they do not right away.
Fewer cars have heat plugs today. Was told they are not really needed.

Just want my wifes car to be ok since she has to work tomorrow.
My truck still has a key and remote start.. I have to go in even though school was closed.

I wish because that sounds more fun than reality. I got promoted and I know oversee manufacturing at 14 plants in the NAFTA region. I have to make quarterly appearances at each of them and this month I’m visiting all the northern plants.

You're going to have to do this circuit first in Q4 and last in Q1 so that you miss November through February.

My PTS Tacoma hasn’t had any issues up here. I did install a remote starter this winter but last didn’t have my issues last winter or the half a winter the year before when I bought it.

It got down to -60 last night and my wife’s RAV4 with push button start had no issues firing up this morning. Mind you it’s in a garage and out of the wind but we don’t plug in the block heater at all.

First time in my life that a place I work has closed on account of low temperatures.
My wife's office is closed on Wednesday as well. I snapped this pic yesterday on the commuter trail that runs through the north side.

my daughter's car has the start/stop. No problems so far, but then again it's less than a year old. The car also has circuitry in it, that if the crank battery has an issue, the start/stop is disabled and the car will continue to run at a stop.

Those are the best...love to stand inside and start my car on a blisteringly hot day only to have the car nice and cool by the time I get inside...I'm sure it's just as satisfying when it's freezing.

That's not the norm. Most people around here are cold-hardened. Maybe your friend is just a wuss.

I've shoveled snow before in jogging pants and a t-shirt. It's usually after Christmas before I start changing out of shorts and flip flops to take the garbage out.
