More evidence that Chiefsplanet is "different" when it comes to the Chiefs...

There's something about being "hardcore", we've always known it I guess. When things are bad with the team, this place can be almost unbearable for sure. But is it really always that CP is just more "negative" than the average fan?

I was listening to 810 this morning, especially them talking with Brooke Pryor from the Star. I seems to me that a slight (or maybe higher) majority here not only like the Patriots matchup and think they can win but WANT the Patriots matchup - you know, the old adage "to be the best, you have to beat the best".

From listening to the radio this morning (granted, it was only a couple of hours) it sure sounded to me like nobody wanted them to face the Patriots. The tone seemed more about the easiest path to the Super Bowl and being somewhat intimidated by the thought of facing Tom Brady.

For me, I see both sides of it. They are a dynastic team. He is one of the greatest QBs every - arguably the greatest. But really when it come down to it, does it matter? Nobody thought they could beat the Colts or the Curse. And yet they did.

The Chiefs are going to win this Sunday. Mark it down. And when they do, NOBODY will be able to say "but it was the Chargers. You didn't have to play the Patriots".

It's time for a new dynasty! It starts THIS SUNDAY!

This place had definitely turned me into a bit of a Chiefs snob. We have smart posters who actually know what they are talking about. I've had conversations with fans that I've met in person and they are...decidedly less informed.

I am sure the Patriots fans and National Pundits will still come up with excuses to begrudge a Chiefs victory. Such and such was hurt, Brady had a sore thumb, Belichick got sick at Q39. You name it, there will be an excuse.

In the grand scheme of things it does not matter. We are capable of giving ANY team a hard time. We not only have the league MVP at the helm, we have a HISTORIC Quarterback leading this team.

Enjoy these times.

Meh. Give me the big name. Means more. KU was +2.5 dogs vs duke in last years EE game, didn’t bug me. There aren’t any guarantees of “ease” anyway, Chargers already proved they could’ve won here too.

This place is more cynical than it is negative. It's funny watching fans from other boards come over here and simply not "get it."

I'd love to face the Saints, although you know there will be tons of hype for the Rams too if they win.

Either way, the best 4 teams are playing this weekend. The Chiefs are going to win it all and there will be NO excuses.

I don't think I have an opinion yet on who I want to play when we make it to the SB.

On one hand, I want redemption against the Rams and I want Peters to get roasted on the biggest stage of his life. On the other hand....I want to send Brees into retirement with a loss and no MVP trophy to wipe away his tears with.

Skeptical, cynical, yep.

That's why I posted what I posted - it SEEMS negative primarily because of the state of the team most years. But success like this really shows the difference.

Because right now, Chiefsplanet is one of the most POSITIVE places I'm visiting on the web.

Agreed, I wanted the Pats too because I am just not that scared of them after some of the beat downs we’ve given them. Sure, we have also lost to them, but even in those losses it was easy to see how we could have won. We have blown them out, but lately we haven’t been on the receiving end of that.

I have been listening to 810 regularly on the net. Overall, I am not hearing that sentiment.

Bring on the Pats. Chiefs Nation- BRING ON THE NOISE!!!

The Colts game proved that our offense isn’t guaranteed to be deterred by cold or snow. Maybe the football is a lot more dense, but that just points the advantage even more towards Mahomes. Do I want an arm like his tossing that frozen football or do I want a 41-year old arm doing that?

It’s just not going to be this huge advantage for the Patriots like people think. It’s basically going to come down to, “Can our offense still operate smoothly?” Even if the defense sucks eggs, that’s never totally prevented us from putting up 30+.

The cold works both ways against both offenses. We’re still left behind with more
