Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I shoot to challenge myself. I can hit a 12" balloon at 1000 yard at about a 50% rate. It took a while to work up to it, which is where the fun is.

Rich assholes are going to buy this gun, and will probably still get out-shot by people that know what they are doing.

People don't understand when I make the same arguments about cars. For instance the Nissan GT-R is a stupid fast car, but I still have no desire to own one, because I prefer to drive rather than have the computer do it for me.

I've taken it out once and put 50 rounds through it. I was getting ridiculous groups at 25 yards.

Immediately made some changes to it though after my first trip to the range.. There is a company called Tacticool that makes stuff for the Sub2K including a grommet that gits over the charging handle making it way more comfortable. From them, I also picked up a Bolt Tube Cover and a recoil buffer that goes inside the stock. Currently waiting for the stock extension and a picatinny rail for the underside of the gun on which I intend to mount a flashlight/laser combo.

OK, need some advice. I'm a novice at best. Bought a Charter Arms .38 snub nose, double action no hammer. I got it for my daughter, who is slightly built. Went to go shoot last week, she couldn't even pull the damn trigger. It DOES have a tough pull but I was surprised that she had such a hard time with it. She could shoot my .45, and a glock .40 that we rented, so she's not afraid to shoot. My question, is it possible to lessen that trigger pull at all, or is it even worth it to do so?

Polish the trigger with some 600-700 grit sand paper.

Revolvers have heavier triggers due to the action.

Don't ask me how to take it apart, though.

Indeed. I also have a Taurus .357 with a MUCH easier trigger pull. I figured it's because the Charter Arms is a cheap ass gun...which it was. But I just didn't think it would be that hard of a pull.

And I don't want to take the damn thing apart either...

A gunsmith will be able to reduce the weight of the trigger pull, but I don't know by how much. Not familiar with that manufacturer or the revolver.

That gun is honestly not worth spending any money on for a gunsmith to improve it IMHO.

Is this a gun that is just for fun or does she intend to carry it?

I basically got her the gun because it was a relatively cheap caliber and should be easy to shoot, carry, whatever. Since it seems to be a bad purchase, I'll probably just keep it myself and look into a little automatic for her. Live and learn...

Less than 400.00. This gun was less than 300.00. I just figured it's a revolver, a snub nose .38, it was cheap and made in America. Meh. Should have done some research.

I was leary about a semi because they could jam, need more maintenance etc. But with how much trouble she had with this one maybe an "affordable" (not cheap), reliable semi is what she would need.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it is a bad purchase... just not the right one for her. In and of itself, it is a fine gun. It is hard to screw up a revolver.

I really like the looks of this S&W 638 in your neck of the woods. Still a revolver so you have the reliability of a wheel gun but it also has a shrouded hammer that won't snag yet she can still pull back for SA/DA.
