The official word on this is a meteor. They even interviewed an Astronomer from Griffith Observatory this morning on local radio about it. After reading that article and talking to a few people that actually saw it, I smell bullshit.

Launch hauling a Top Secret payload is scrubbed and miraculously this "meteor" appears in the sky right at or near the scheduled launch time? Yeah right.

My theory is that we were being ****ed with. Top Secret payload probably means Spy Satellite, and either the Russians or Chinese decided to make an appearance just to say "we are watching". That or UFO's. Definitely UFO's.

Either way, again, I smell bullshit.

I saw it driving home form Scacamento to SF last night. No meteor for sure not a meteor. It's the type of smoke trail you see after a launch or a early stage of the rocket comes off. The thing was up there for more than 15 minutes so it was not a vapor trail. It was exhaust or smoke.
