Oh I'm not worried.

I know, the Chargers have a top 5 or 10 defense, no doubt. And they have a nice group of weapons, including Mike Williams and Keenan, and those guys are not only good, but they typically have success against the Chiefs even when we have healthy DBs.

But this Chargers team also had to come from behind to beat the Cincinnati Bengals, the worst team in the NFL. They were given multiple gifts to win that game. And still just barely eked out a win, and only managed to score 16 points against the worst defense in the league.

And even with both Ward and Breeland out, and Saunders, and a nicked up Nnadi, this defense is still better than the defense we started the 2019 season with, so I'm not worried in the least. Tyrod Taylor is a very athletic version of Alex Smith, and Alex Smith on his best day couldn't out-score Pat Mahomes with a full boat of healthy weapons, offensive line, and Andy Reid calling the plays.

But what's really going to hurt the Chargers is the fact that their stud safety is not going to be on the field, so Kelce is going to go off. And so is CEH. CEH is going to catch at least a half dozen passes in the first half, he's going to pick up big chunks of yardage in the middle tomorrow, and probably score a couple times before the half.

We're going to win going away, probably by at least 14 points, and it probably would be a lot worse than that, except I fully expect Reid to go into clock-killing mode about half-way through the third quarter once he's established a three score lead. Once we have a 17-21 point lead, Andy will do what he did in last year's first Raiders debacle and it'll be a lot of runs and short passes and nothing downfield, so he can protect his players and his playbook, the end.

And then preseason will be over for us. But I am curious to see that shiny new stadium of theirs so it'll be fun.
