Some interesting Day 3 WRs...

WR Marquez Stevenson , Houston 5'10 190 lbs
This guy can turn on a second gear when he gets some space. Injury history is dropping him, and H&W vary depending on source. He had 1,900+ yards in 2 seasons and took 3 of 38 returns to the house.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpSd600JeAE

WR JAELON DARDEN, North TX, 5'9 175 lbs
Whoa! Amazing fast-twitch, quickness, and puts everyone on skates. Imagine this guy in Andy's screen passes, he fields punts as an added bonus. "Making someone miss is like brushing my teeth in the morning, I gotta do it every day."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=its_BX11eag

WR Dwayne Estridge, Western Michigan 5'9 190 lbs
Another guy with track speed in space. Played CB and WR, smart football player, can play on outside and slot, returns as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0APf_QnNyg

WR TJ Vasher, Houston 6'6 210 lbs TX Tech
Great hands and instincts for such a tall athlete. Great in redzone and contested balls. Was a Day 2 guy originally but character flaws have him potentially going 4-7 or dropping him off the board apparently.

Found this on Chiefs FanNation https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/gm-rep...kill-positions

"Jaelon Darden has numbers that will knock your socks off. In nine games played in 2020, Darden had 1,190 yards and 19 touchdowns for North Texas. That's right, he averaged more than two touchdowns per game. He had four games of three touchdowns and one game of four touchdowns against UTEP. While certainly not the strongest competition, that is stunning production against any level. Another productive receiver here is Marlon Williams, who put up 1,037 yards and 10 touchdowns over eight games played for UCF. There is the potential to get a good receiver here if the Chiefs prefer to prioritize other positions in the first two days of the draft.

Cade Johnson is almost a no-brainer if he goes this late and the Chiefs are on the clock. Johnson did not play in 2020 thanks to the FCS season being moved to the spring, but his two prior seasons were great, exceeding 1,200 yards in each. He also had 25 total touchdowns in the two seasons combined. FCS, sure, but Johnson has also impressed in his pre-draft work against some good FBS talents. He could be a low-key great late-round slot receiver for years to come."

Also, Jaelon had more yards running as a HS QB lol:https://www.profootballnetwork.com/j...wide-receiver/
"Although he heads to the 2021 NFL Draft as an explosive wide receiver prospect, Darden’s journey began as a high school quarterback. A true-dual threat, as a junior he put up 869 rushing yards with 10 touchdowns. He also threw for 5 touchdowns and 637 yards from 53 completions."

Just because he’s shifty I don’t want to go to the top with the comparisons, but he does remind me of Dante Hall.

Honestly, Dante Hall wasn't a great WR. Great return guy for sure, one of the best ever. But as a WR, he was pretty average.

I’ve seen a couple of people mock Eskridge to the Chiefs.

Darden is 5'7-5/8" and 174 pounds. I like the kid but not many 5'8" receivers have amounted to much of anything in the NFL. Obviously, he's a pure slot option and maybe he'll be good enough he can carve out a nice career. All that juking isn't going to work against guys that run as fast, or faster than you, and don't miss as often.

He could very well carve out a very good career as a #5 type that is an outstanding returner.

I agree that he seems more like a gadget player to me, but those numbers say otherwise. I'll be interested as well to see how he performs/develops. Becoming the next Dante Hall is no small feat, and would be an accomplishment in itself. I hope he proves us wrong though. Best of luck to him!

I wish we had Darnell Mooney. He was one of my sleepers last year. 174 lbs.

Alot of guys in that 175 range have been successful but most in the 5'10"-5'11" range just like Mooney. A few in the 5'9"s.

The guy is basically Mooney with Sproles' height... Going to be rough out there I think.

If he weighs the same at a shorter height he is stockier. That is bad now?!

I wouldn't call 175 pounds at 5'7" vs 5'10" stocky by any means but if you want to throw "stockier" at it then by all means yes that'd be true. It doesn't really much matter. Few that weigh that little last long because they can't sustain the hits.

The height is the biggest detriment to him though. More power to him if he makes it as anything more than a gadget option and returner.

Strachan looked like the Division II version of Chase Claypool on tape with his acceleration, ball tracking skills and humongous catch radius to climb the ladder or snatch away from his frame. He won’t be able to physically dominate with his size/speed alone in the NFL, but he will benefit from not having another sport to focus on in the offseason for the first time in his life. Overall, Strachan will require development time before he is ready for the jump in talent at the pro level, but the athletic traits, body control and tracking skills for a player that size are uncommon and worth the day 3 investment.

Wasn't sure where else to put this, but I wish "Drops" was a stat they tracked in college.
