Medieval Diseases Are Infecting California’s Homeless

Typhus, tuberculosis, and other illnesses are spreading quickly through camps and shelters....

Infectious diseases—some that ravaged populations in the Middle Ages—are resurging in California and around the country, and are hitting homeless populations especially hard.

Los Angeles recently experienced an outbreak of typhus—a disease spread by infected fleas on rats and other animals—in downtown streets. Officials briefly closed part of City Hall after reporting that rodents had invaded the building.

People in Washington State have been infected with Shigella bacteria, which is spread through feces and causes the diarrheal disease shigellosis, as well as Bartonella quintana, or trench fever, which spreads through body lice.*...

The diseases spread quickly and widely among people living outside or in shelters, helped along by sidewalks contaminated with human feces, crowded living conditions, weakened immune systems, and limited access to health care...
Those infectious diseases are not limited to homeless populations, Lopez warns: “Even someone who believes they are protected from these infections [is] not.”

Is this what it's going to take for Commifornia to change its ways? Sadly, it might be. The silver-lining is maybe it will thin out the lefty-commie herd there. Even elsewhere, as link says it's spreading to Washington State. On the other hand, maybe they want this, because they also believe the world is over populated but don't seem to mind the US becoming over-populated, allowing dumping the most fertile and procreational folks here.

Time to build a wall around California except on the Mexican border.

Black Plague!!!! "Bring out your dead!" "Bring out your dead!" I'm still in favor of walling Kalifornia off and giving it back to Mexico.

You mean that homeless people living in squalor on the streets are more susceptible to diseases associated with living in squalor on the streets?

Somebody should get a Nobel Prize for this discovery.

Do you ever google anything to learn in order to refute effectively?

It has been hypothesized that the genus Mycobacterium originated more than 150 million years ago. In the Middle Ages, scrofula, a disease affecting cervical lymph nodes, was described as a new clinical form of TB.

Link must have similar code for that emoticon. Click on quote feature to get it. I can't fix it without changing the link.
It suggested there were more diseases in that report. But bubonic plague has been showing up too. Not just in Cali either.

Ah yes, it makes sense if we consider the diseases not actually mentioned in the article.

You must be blind to read as poorly as you chronically do. Sorry I can't provide Braille for you over the net.

I just showed you how TB, an infectious disease, goes back to that era using NIH as a source.

Those right there are "some."

Both sources are usually favorable to your side.

Though the article said it poses risks to those not on the streets eventually. Isn't that why they call those "infectious?" Yep!

Some illegals who had TB were shipped out to some western states. I reported it about a year or so ago with a link. Just don't remember the source. They are not coming from countries as clean and sanitary as ours and do bring diseases. When they came through Ellis Island, immigrants underwent medical checks immediately, for any diseases and were not allowed in.Even if they were too sick to work they weren't allowed in.

After their medical check they went on to interrogation. It wasn't a long one but their names and info were checked for accuracy, were checked if the person could take care of "himself and fulfill the demands to be able to stay in the US. They should also determine if the person was a danger to the society."

We can't do any of this if they enter illegally and it's worse with large numbers coming at once. We don't have the personnel of enough detention centers.

So diseases that have been endemic up to the 20th century are “medieval?” Seems like a weird way to describe them.
