Package Deal with Bienemy and Dorsey?

Sources tell Matt Lombardo of FanSided that Eric Bieniemy and John Dorsey could be a package deal.
The upcoming hiring season should begin in the next few weeks in the NFL as one of several frustrated teams hungry for new leadership will make the first move to hire a new regime. For one team, it could include a reunion of former and current Kansas City Chiefs employees.

Matt Lombardo, National NFL columnist for FanSided, has word that former Chiefs general manager John Dorsey and current offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy might make themselves available as a package deal of sorts for a team looking to recreate the stable success of Kansas City.

Interesting. So if that is the case Bienemy would be looking for a place with a HC and GM opening..

I'm not a Fields guy at all, which probably is why I feel that way.

Dorsey isn't going to Houston. He won't want to share any power with a non-football guy.

Arthur Blank is someone that would give up the control which is why I pointed out Atlanta as an option.

Dorsey's definitely made some solid draft picks over the years, but the fact he picked Kitchens over Stefanski looks even more horrible now than it did at the time. Just a terrible, terrible decision.

Well that and Dimitroff was fired.

I'm curious to see if they'll hire Morris full time.

I think out of all the openings or possible openings, ATL is probably the most attractive. Chargers could be if they let Lynn go because of Herbert.

I think Detroit has competent management since Bill Ford died and rectified a wrong by letting Quinn and Patricia go.

Jacksonville's Jacksonville (though they have a lot of picks on the horizon).

Houston's a mess if Esterby or what ever tries to shove down the Patriot Way.

And Jets honestly wouldn't be a terrible destination because of cap space and pick (plus decision on Darnold).

The Jets aren't a horrible spot if ownership isn't going to meddle but you just don't know...

You're going to start with Lawrence and Becton, extra picks and the ability to mold the roster.

I think Jets ownership isn't an issue, they gave Bowles time.

I think Gase just duped everybody, though. He has accomplished jack shit aside from holding Peyton's clip board and making the POs once in Miami.

At this point I'm pretty sure they are keeping Gase to make sure they get the 1st pick.

I just hope they go to an NFC team
This is how I see it. I think the Lions would be a great landing spot for both. Dorsey can make some trades and stack talent while Bienemy can work with Stafford possibly.

Would they trade Stafford and start all over?

Not yet, at best you keep him and work the young guy behind him, it isn't like they're getting Lawrence.

Falcons are in a pretty similar situation as the Lions with Ryan with more talent, IMO.

As Clark walks away from him, Dorsey wipes his hands on his pants like he just touched something nasty.

There was clearly no love lost there.
Watch again and do a freeze frame. Clark hunt extends an open hand to Dorsey, then sees that Dorsey is making a fist for a bump, so he adjusts to meet the fist bump, then immediately turns and shakes hands with two others as Dorsey gets all awkward. Dorsey had been doing a mix of bro-hugs, handshakes, and high fives before that.

Just pointing it out to state that in this interaction, Hunt was the one who approached Dorsey to shake hands, and all the strangeness comes from Dorsey. Your description makes Hunt sound like he's somehow kind of being a dick to Dorsey in public and I don't see it. Sometimes these weird things can just happen, especially in an interaction with a boss or a top level executive. We probably try to read too much into it.

True. I think interim coach Morris is earning a spot there though. Especially after the thrashing that team gave the Raiders.

It's Lawrence and Wilson right now as 1st round QB's.

Lance is a super raw, all traits and Fields has not played like a top ten pick. Both Lance and Fields will end up placed value wise for me late 1, 2nd round.

And mims, perine, quinnen Williams... And you'd have to imagine they can get a mighty haul by trading darnold. They have a solid GM, so its without a doubt a question about ownership.
