Del Rio: I don't see why the Raiders won't win the AFC West

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-the-afc-west/

he last time the Raiders won the AFC West, it was at the end of the 2002 season, when Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” was the No. 1 song and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers was the top movie at the box office. It’s been a long time.

But new Raiders coach Jack Del Rio doesn’t see why the Raiders can’t win the AFC West this year.

“Goal No. 1 is to win our division, and I don’t see why not,” Del Rio said in a video on the team’s website.

Raiders offensive line coach Mike Tice added, “We’re going to be a championship football team.”

In the time since their last playoff appearance, the Raiders have gone from Bill Callahan to Norv Turner to Art Shell to Lane Kiffin to Tom Cable to Hue Jackson to Dennis Allen to Tony Sparano as head coach. All those coaches arrived with optimism that they’d be the ones to win in Oakland. Maybe Del Rio will finally be the coach who can actually turn things around.

Man I love ya in the video game/media center so I wanted to not do this. However, you need to know something....

A couple years ago I was invited to invesco for a huge managers meeting. They let us walk around with full access. I decided that right then and there was my only chance.
I walked up to the VIP section where they had a huge, hand painted portrait of Elway. I straight up gave it a 'Hitler' then walked into Elways' personal pisser and pissed all over the shoe shine machine. After that I walked out to the main trophy room and wiped two bloody, crusty boogers on the trophy display case and hocked a huge lung cookie straight on the Terrel Davis jersey in the lounge.

Just sayin.

There you go.

When, exactly, was this? Do you think this has anything to do with Denver being 6-0 against KC in the last 6 games?

Raiders have a pretty good OL

WR corp is not bad in Cooper and Crabtree

They drafted Clive Walford who broke every TE record at the U, and Miami pumped out some pro bowl TE's

Roy Helu Jr cut his teeth with the Redskins as a pass catching RB- Carr's got some good weapons, just read they are going with the Chip Kelly uptempo/no huddle offense- I wouldnt be at all surprised to see them win 7-8 games....2 years down the road the Raiders are gonna be a good team- They got their franchise QB and most likely Tim Brown part II in Cooper for the next 15 years- But we got Alex Smith

No bold predictions from me but the threat at wr alone is going to make this team alot better than they have been in a long time.

The offense will be good, The Linebackers will be real good I think, I am suspect at corner and getting after the QB.

This team does have a very good core of young players.

Well, because the Chiefs, Chargers and Broncos are all better than you and you're a dipshit and a terrible coach.
