NFT: If you have up to $45k to spend on the next car

Got hit this last week and may have the current vehicle totaled out, which isn't a bad thing since I'm pretty well above water on the loan/value ratio.

So, while I'm waiting to find out if we go the "totaled" route, I would need to move fast on the next vehicle.

Desired Specs
4-5 seater
4 door
Fast (300+ hp)
Looks cool
Car or SUV, not a Truck or Van

Bells/Whistles
Air Conditioned/Cooling seats (it's hot in TX)
Backup Camera
Decent interface/console

Age
Ideally not "Brand New" so I don't eat the cost driving off the lot
If 4-5 years old, then the vehicle better be worth it

Cost
Top end of budget is $45k
Can also be lower for the right car, as it would reduce current car payments

Since this happened out of the blue, what should be on my radar?

I don't know whats so funny. It's going to be an antique soon and it runs great. Classic cars are hard to come by with only 56K on the engine. I think I paid around 20K for it ain 96 and with 5% apr. it's a bargain at 41K.

I'll take $35K, deliver it to your door and Chiefs season tickets if they're available . Contingent on the tickets not costing more than $10K

The only thing I ever used it for was pulling a small boat to the lake when I lived in NC. I still have the boat and will throw it in . It has a depth finder and a trolling motor.

That’s why the Cayenne Turbo has been a blast - speed and comfort. Occasionally I’ll hit hill country and rip into it a bit. And it’s nice to know I can go fast if I need to.

Just been a burden with maintenance and such but still enjoyable. This is an opportunity to bail on it while extracting max return, which is why I’m tempted. The payout would be more than my original down payment, so it’s basically like I paid $1k to rent it for 3 years.

One of my good friends has one and it's really a nice blend of everything. I'd at least take a real hard look at getting one if I were to decide to go back to having a car.

What about that 4-door Porsche sedan thing, since you're a Porsche guy? I have no idea what they cost, but i think they're pretty cool.

Any German car you look into is going to be expensive to own/operate, that said, you can probably get a nice used Porsche Cayenne or even an Panamera for $45k. The Cayenne is a 4 door SUV and the Panamera is a 4 door hatchback.

Maybe a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, those are stupid fast: https://www.jeep.com/grand-cherokee-srt/gallery.html

It'll drop the price of that previous generation quite a bit, IMO.

The new 'vette is !@#$ing sexy, man. If that thing drives like it looks, that's a supercar for $65K.
I've historically been ambivalent about the Corvettes. I like the roadster aspect, but I've felt that other cars had better aesthetics.

But this new version? Wowee. That's a sharp-dressed car.

I just bought a used 2018 Jag F-Pace 35T Prestige AWD. It had 10K miles & I paid $50K for it but you can routinely find 2017 models in the $40K - $45K range, with 25K miles. My old car was a Chevy Avalanche, with 266K miles on it. I still have it, using it for Home Depot runs, etc.

Absolutely love the car and I looked at plenty. Audi Q5, Cadillac XT5, Kia Telluride, Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, etc, Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra to name a few.
F-pace is fast, sporty drive, decent gas mileage (21 - 22 mpg in town), 23 -24 mpg on the highway, cruising at 80-85 mph. Great looking car as well.

What sold me on the car vs, the Audi Q5 was the service. All service included up to 50K miles, warranty extended to 7 years 100K miles. For Audi you have to buy a service contract.

I kinda dig those F-type cars. I've never driven one, but it looks like a used one can be had for under $45k. Here's one for $36,000. I like the BMW Z4's styling better, though, and the BMW also gives you the retractable hardtop.

I've never gotten the math to work out for leasing (plus there are limits on how much you can drive, no maintenance warranty, etc.), but depending on what you're looking at, it could be fairly close in the end.

I was originally going to say a BMW M2, but probably not coming from a Porsche.... more like an M6. For some reason I've always been intrigued by the Macan, but haven't ever test driven one.

Not to get distracted, but my mall has had various Maclarens on display the past few months. If I was a man of means, they seem like a good deal for $200,000 new.
