Introduced to the U.S. market just two years back, the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia returns from a triumphant launch, bringing more style and substance to challenge the luxury car market's best brands. In the Giulia, the art of driving is front and center. Indeed, while some may find the Giulia's looks somewhat polarizing, few will quibble with the utter joy one experiences behind the wheel. Designed to challenge cars like the Audi A4/S4, the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Giulia brilliantly blends luxury, performance and features into unique sport sedan that won't break the bank. In its most basic guise, the Giulia is a rear-wheel-drive sedan powered by turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine pumping out a very respectable 280 horsepower. And with five more trims above the base car, it only gets better the more you're willing to spend. Of course, having only been introduced in 2017, it's difficult to know how the Giulia will hold up in the areas of long-term reliability and resale, a fair question given parent company FIAT's own struggles in this area. Then again, the Ferrari-derived 505-hp engine in the stunning Quadrifoglio trim may be enough to allow some buyers to justify the risk. The rewards certainly do. What's New for 2019? For 2019, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport gets new 19-in wheels, while the Quadrifoglio gains a 40/20/40 folding rear seat. New options include a heated rear seat and a number of new Nero Edizione and Carbon Fiber packages. Car and Driver Review: https://www.caranddriver.com/alfa-romeo/giulia Since you wanted a used car, I just did a search for the State of Florida where I live for a 2018 model. I found 40 results. Car and Driver recommend the TI model, here's a 2018 Giulia Ti with 9600 miles for $28,878. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing |

I did like my old Infiniti g35 a few years back, so the fast sedan is appealing.

Here's the latest results from Barrett Jackson.
$15K for a 2008 M6 V10 with 74K original miles. Carfax lists that as a $25K-$30K car. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Arch...019/06-29-2019

The requirement for four seats knocks out all of my top suggestions. Any wiggle room on that?

They are cool; I had a base model as a rental once and enjoyed it, although it took some getting used to with the windows and visibility. That said the current vehicle is very difficult to see out of the back of.

2008 Masserati with 47K original miles went for $34K. That was a $100,000+ car brand new.

Cars are a depreciating asset...terrible place to put any real money.
I'd find a nice high-end 6-10 year old car with service history, put a few grand in buttoning up the maintenance. Let some other sucker lose his shirt for buying new...cars get beaten up. Five years ago...I was looking into buying a used M3. They were $50-65k new in 2005...ten years later were going for $15k. Put $3k into long term maintenance...and you have a car for 30% of what it cost new. |
