Sandbox Simulations is back! Welcome to the magical year of 2019!

Okay, we had some issues to work out, and it took a while. But we think we've got it ready to roll with a commercial launch. We're not quite ready yet, but we're close. We'll open for business in the next month or so.

As promised, you get a free membership (well, read the details below) if you were one of our beta testers. I went through the various Sandbox threads, and these are the people who had more than 25 posts, so I'm presuming that you all were active players. If you were an active player and you don't see your name on this list, pm me and we can confirm. I recognize that you may have played without posting in the threads.

We'll be launching commercially soon, so we've added a pay portal to the site and have done some other things to beef up the admin. But the game itself hasn't really changed other than a few fixes.

So if you're a beta tester, we have one last request for you. We're finalizing the pricing, but think it'll run about $18 per year. You're in for free after that for the life of the business with a special founders membership*, but we'll ask you to test the payment system as one last experiment, so we'll set the price at $1 for a short period of time so you can enroll**. If you invest $1, you'll get a lifetime membership valued at $600.***

* Nontransferable
** Scholarships available if the $1 fee is not viable for you
***Assumes present value of an $18 annual membership for 100 years at a 3 percent discount time value.

The good news / bad news is we'll be starting over. The 2018 NFL season will serve as year 0. This is your chance to draft better. We are simplifying the veteran draft to 20 rounds. You'll be randomly assigned 33 mid-tier players to fill out your roster. Hold on, because we are still a few weeks away.

My buddy had a BETA membership as a non-CP member; I presume I'd need to get him signed back up as well?

Any way for Year 1 to be an auction format of any sort? Seems unlikely given the headaches involved but figured I'd throw that out there...

I'm definitely in. Hate that I can't continue from where I left off. I had a young but talented squad and I got rid of aging talent for a lot of first round picks. I was ready to build a squad that would dominate for years to come. Oh well. Still excited to play again. A couple questions. #1 How will draft order be determined and 2# Can we change or add our City locations and mascot?

I traded peak Rodgers for the #1 overall pick (Andrew Luck) and lost a shot at defending my title because of it. Oh well - still have that first ring, I guess. Gonna get a lot of money for that some day...

I suspect that it'll be a random draw on draft order with a serpentine from round to round.

On the city locations and mascots, we have a funny story behind that. As we go commercial, we don't really want some innocent sub-18 person to join a league and have to face their division rival the Whoreville Genitalia Lickers or the Gacyville Sodomizing Clowns. Also, since we'll have turnover in team owners, we don't want people to not take over a team because it's called the Toledo Womanshovers or the Berlin Hitler Youth Corps. So we've got two very large databases of every decent-sized town in the USA along with a massive list of nearly every team name that has ever been assigned to a pro, college, or high school team. (We actually had to go through that database and remove a few very objectionable names from the early 1900s, too.) So when you register, you'll get a massive search function to test your city and name and select one from the approved list.

Oh, that reminds me. I need to confirm that Ermines is on the list.
