Guys, who else feels like they could run through a wall right now?

I spent about 2 hours moving snow this morning in -12 wind chills.

Tomorrow is NOT going to be bitter cold. It's going to be LOUD!

Last week I was nervous. This week, I wanna put my forehead through the drywall in the hallway.

I feel ya'. As each day has passed, my confidence level has risen higher and higher, and I've come to grips with the reality that Mahomes is just a different animal leading this team.
I can sum it up fairly simply:

In the past, it was "no way" could the Chiefs win a AFCCG, go to a Bowl, and win it all.

Now, it's "why not"? This team is as good as any team in this league, and can go toe to toe, score for score with either high-caliber offenses, top-ranking defenses, or both. And even if we weren't to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl THIS year, you KNOW we'd be back, and get there sooner rather than later.

I expected a wild card birth and a fight to win it before this season started. Anything beyond that is pure icing on a brilliantly-made cake.

Almost exactly how I feel.

I've always wanted a QB we could call "ours". Now we have THE QB, and he's ours. How freaking glorious is that?

I think the issues with Clark that people just can't figure out have a lot to do with how he presents himself. We hear that he is "intense and passionate", but that's not exactly how he comes off. He certainly knows what to say, but sometimes his actions don't follow suit.
I believe his inexperience in the beginning had a lot to do with how people perceive him to this day. And I believe that if the Chiefs were the ONLY sports interest he had in life, some of that floundering in the beginning could have been avoided. Three coaches and three GM's later, it seems that he has finally begun to get a better grip on the league than he had coming in. I also believe( to his credit )that he has chosen to blaze a somewhat different path than his father in regards to the philosophy of the team, and to what will be given priority under his tenure.

The only thing that bothers me, again, is that unlike most owners in this league, the Chiefs aren't the only pro sports endeavor in his life. And then, you've got owners in whom their NFL team is ALL THEY DO. But sometimes that works, and sometimes it doesn't so who knows? Also, I really don't like the idea of him being involved in personnel contract disputes or personnel in general. That's what guys who have spent their whole adult lives evaluating talent and negotiating contracts are hired for, right? Being a GM is a tricky business and it takes a LONG time working and studying under masters of the craft before one is ready to truly sit in that chair. And once you get there, and someone hires you, that employer needs to trust that you and the head coach have a vision, and are working towards attaining it, bumps in the road and all.
What I DO know is that he seems to be improving in his role as owner and representative as time goes on, and that's really all you can ask for.

It is unbelievably fantastic and downright otherworldly. Just having this kid is a MAJOR coup and gives us the INSTANT ability to thumb our noses at 80% of this league.

A good portion of NFL owners have SEVERAL other business ventures, including other minor and major league sports teams.

We only know the stuff about Clark because he's our owner. Trust me, he's just one of many.

Heck, the late Paul Allen owned the Seahawks and the Trailblazers. The Glazer family owns the Buccaneers and Manchester United.

Stan Kroenke owns the Rams, the Nuggets, the Avalanche, AND Arsenal.

This is gonna be over early folks. I really expect to suck the soul out of these child-kissing scumbags in the first quarter. Let Brady try to make a valiant comeback with that ****ing noodle arm of his.

( sung to the tune of "three of these things" )

Two of these things are quite successful,
two of these things are bags of shit...

So yeah...I'm gonna' go ahead and stand by my take on that front, please.

How many ever saw Kansas City before, say, 3 years ago? Like 10 or so I'd bet.

It's odd how fans of teams (not just Chiefs -- all teams, most fans) somehow think their players feel the same way about their team that they do. 99% of the time, that isn't the case at all.

The amount of bitching I hear from Pats fans about players who leave for the money when they have it SO GOOD with the Pats/Brady/Belichick is comical. They're playing for a ****ing paycheck -- and would YOU seriously turn down an extra $X million? Why? You're from ****ing Alabama or Florida or Texas or California and you don't give a crap about Boston. JFC people.

Same for you, here. Just sayin'

I think it's different in this context: And by no means am I saying this is the only correct answer.

You walk into the Chiefs franchise and see the incredible success they had as AFL team. You meet Lenny, you meet Buck Buchanan, Willie Lanier, Fred Arbanas, Curly Culp, Emmitt Thomas. That a wing of HOF'ers. Those guys gave legitimacy to the entire AFL. And from the AFL days, the Pats weren't much of a winning franchise.

The Pats grew their winning history from 85 to the present. The Chiefs? They sowed nothing but disappointment after 1971. Regular season? Sure, great records. And playoff futility.

The players know how much the last game meant for the fans and the city. That doesn't mean it was their sole motivator. But these players acknowledge the players from the glory years, and the fans who have waited for (in the words of William Wallace) "One chance, JUST one chance" to bring this franchise to glory again.

I have listened to both Chiefs and Pats sports radio all week and some national radio along with a bunch if the crappy fs1 and ESPN shows. Not once have I heard "Pat's have all the experience , this is a terrbile matchup for the Cheifs". Virtually everyone is picking the Chiefs for several different reasons. Infact the only time I've seen anyone pick the Pat's was in this thread with the picture if the picks from an ESPN show. Even majority of picks on Pats sports radio are for the Chiefs. I'm assuming Skip Bayless will pick the Pats.

This is not a bad matchup for the Chiefs it's a bad matchup for the Pats, especially since it's in Arrowhead. Remember this though, 2015 was the Pat's last loss in afccg in the road against what many consider a top 10 all time defense in Denver and Pats put up basically 20 points (18 in reality as both extra points were missed). That was also a very loud environment so I use that as the Pat's threshold. If they scored 20 that day vs that D then they could and should get 30 tomorrow. Chiefs need to score in the 30s to win IMO.....I know that sounds easy the way they played this year, but it won't be!.......
