Why do the local Chiefs media never break stories?
Are they lazy? Not connected enough?

Everything we learn about this team comes from National media. Outside of fluff pieces, character backstories, and film analysis, we simply get press conference reports and discussion around stories larger outlets break.

Terez was good because he was connected to the players. Babb broke the Pioli/Haley spy story, probably via Haley.

But now, we are entirely reliant on the national guys. What gives?

Some of KC/Chiefs media cracks me up. I was just thinking about this yesterday... remember that preseason game where Tyler Bray three like 3 TD’s against the Packers and we were all so starved for a QB that could throw TD’s like that, to the point where a very, very dorky Chiefs media guy talked about it on this show the next day and he was all bug-eyes with his jaw dropped, talking about Bray’s game and he made the comment that he “won’t ever forget the very moment he witnessed that...he will always remember where he was, the exact moment the way it happened” because it was THAT groundbreaking and special. Haha, can’t remember his name... Parkins, maybe? Huge dweeb. Cracks me up thinking about it. I wonder if he remembers who Bray is...?

It's the same way for every team. The reason schefter and rapoport break stories is because they both receive info and give info to teams. Local reporters don't know any info about other teams or about if the league is suspending a player so there's no tit for tat with the team. And schefter and rapoport don't have to worry about locker room access so they can leak stories all they want.

It's possible that the Chiefs relocated and didn't tell the local media. They play games here to avoid any negative backlash, and no one has figured it out yet.
