Look at Hitchens there - he's 'attacking' he's just attacking into a hole that A) Isn't his responsibility and B) he has no chance of actually getting to.

The mind-numbing stupidity and complete lack of discipline in this play is hilarious. If the guy just stands in his !@#$ing gap, this is a no-gain. And people complain about how complicated the scheme is - that's basic 'flow/fill' stuff. That's all he has to do; flow and fill his gap. He just refuses to do it and instead dives into a gap that already has 2 other guys in it, they all manage to take themselves out and there's a WIDE open cutback lane.

And as a cherry on top, look at that pussy Ron Parker just standing there waiting for someone to come get him. Nice work, bud. Way to really bring the lumber and blow that play up.

And this happens every single week. They just keep blowing the same basic stuff. These are defensive designs that should work but these guys are playing with their heads firmly wedged up their asses.
Eric Berry, help us.

At this point he’s the only one who might start holding some of these ****ers accountable.

I am so sick of seeing Murray miss easy tackles. It’s every single week.

Sutton is the one that trots him and Parker out there when Jordan Lucas is sitting on the bench.

This defense needs a complete overhaul from the coaching staff down to the 4th string safety.

Watching that Hitchens clip brings me the same kind of perverse pleasure rage that the Hill uncovered up the seam in the playoff loss to Pittsburgh GIF does.

I mean c'mon - how does that even happen?

I'll give Hitch the benefit of the doubt in that I saw him not do that in Dallas. Something is going on the with the coaching here.

Just blow the coaching staff out.

They just play so damn passive. it's like they're feeling their way around instead of just playing. To me, that's a coaching thing, especially when I've seen said players not do that else where.

It's the opposite, IMO.

Hitchens got where he was supposed to be and rather than be patient, do his job and let the game come to him, he just ran out of there. He even settled down into his gap and then decided "Nah, **** that - I got tackles to get..."

This is a great example of why "Hey, he's up there leaguewide in tackles" is a terrible defense. Y'know what - maybe he should worry less about racking up tackle stats and more about just staying in his damn gap.

Well I mean, Parker's being passive. But that's not coaching - he's just being a pussy.

Parker is playing like he doesn't want to get hurt and lose his job for good.

True.

That's also a play where Jones immediately stands up and gets blown out by a single player.

I don't think he can play in the 34 fronts consistently if they're gonna give him a big money deal. Just transition to a 43 style and be done with it.

I guess you can do that when the only way to lose your job for good IS to get hurt.

The blind spot that Sutton has for Parker is my biggest gripe with him and there's not a close 2nd. I'm not sure if playing one single guy who has no business on the field anymore is a fireable offense, but if it is, I can't think of a better example of Ron Parker being out there.

I mean ****, what is it he actually DOES? Are we just playing with an arm behind our back to sandbag teams in January? It's the best answer I've got at this point...

I'm really hoping for that 4-3 transition. It probably won't happen though.

Parker playing patty cake in that clip pisses me the **** off. Nut is exactly right. What the **** does he do well? Why does he play?

Lucas should be getting SOME snaps at the very least. That's on Sutton.

You just described literally nobody here.

Nobody thinks Sutton is a good coordinator and nobody thinks it's 100% the players.

There's a few "dumbasses" here that think it's 100% Sutton though.
