Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

People were wrong about Geno. Some on either "side" will be wrong about Mahomes' ceiling.. and some justifiably have yet to make up their minds. Others were wrong that Alex would be enough to get KC a SB, so far. Some have fairly sound reasoning for why he never can.

Who gives a ****? What's done is done.. and I for one am hoping that either of these QBs can step up and win KC a SB or three.

All of the forum right or wrong posturing is fun and games that are here to spice up forum talk. That too.. is what it is.. and serves its purpose, but isn't going to be taken too seriously.

I think you misread my statement. I said I was fed up with "not sucking" - not that I was "not wanting to suck." Not sucking = investing in resources that ensure the team is good to be around the playoff/wildcard picture (and maybe even a division champ when the schedule breaks right).

I'm fed up with being happy averaging a 10.5-5.5 record and making the wildcard round.

I'll never agree respectability was a worthy goal with the new regime. Tear it down and start trying to build it back up in a way that can win the Super Bowl from Day 1, rather than just getting around to it Year 5.

All Alex Smith really did was waste four more years of Chiefs fans' time.
You'd have a valid argument with this if the Chiefs passed on Andrew Luck to draft Eric Fisher. They didn't. The only QB they passed on that has been worth a shit was Derek Carr, and while that's a significant mistake, it's not a death sentence.

The team wasn't going from 2-14 to Super Bowl contender over night. You're so tired of winning 10 games a year when the Chiefs from 2000-2013 when Dorsey/Reid came, had 10 wins 3 times.

Alex Smith wasted time, but you were firmly happy hitching your wagon to Geno Smith, who would have wasted a similar amount of time and this end result would still be the same. The Chiefs finally get their young potential franchise QB, which this regime was always going to get when they found the prospect they loved.

Which is it, bub? Are Geno Smith fans ALWAYS wrong, or are you smarter than Dorsey and Reid just because Geno Smith fans love Patrick Mahomes?

Logically you can't have both.

In NBA terms rooting for the Chiefs with Ass11 would be like rooting for any other team besides the Warriors, Cavs, and maybe Spurs. I guess you could try to make it fun and be happy with some wins but you know the ending the movie already.

Read it again.. and then argue with me that a legit fan won't hope that whatever QB's name on the back of a jersey is the answer as the SB winner for their team.

Let me know if I'm going too fast for you.

You're trying to construct a quandary where there isn't one.

If one side thinks any and every QB is desirable, and the other side thinks that the QB the Dorsey actually acquires is desirable, then when Dorsey selected Mahomes the Vin diagrams overlapped.

It's like if a prospector is panning for gold, so he gathers up every single rock in the American West. It's not impossible for there to be a nugget somewhere in the pile, but the enterprise was a lot of wasted effort without much progress due to their activities. Much better to have someone who actually knows how to differentiate gold from granite conduct the search.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I trust Dorsey and Reid when it comes to QBs over the Geno Smith lovers who constantly bash Alex Smith. Reid and Dorsey have been consistent in their support for Alex Smith so I am too.

That's it. Let's not make this more complicated than it needs to be.

Geno fans don't think this. I didn't like Mark Sanchez, Josh Freeman, Brandon Weeden, Blaine Gabbert, Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel, and numerous other QBs.

Did you or did you not write this post?

Yeah, these are the guys I am going to listen to when they give their expert opinions on Alex Smith. Lol!
You're basically saying, "This one opinion this group of people had was wrong, therefore other opinions these people have are also wrong!"

And what the **** is this "A lot of posters want to bench or cut Alex Smith" bullshit? When? As soon as Mahomes is ready to play? Absolutely. This season? Not very ****ing many. ZERO of them want to rush Mahomes onto the field.

Youre not a fan of this football team. You are in love with one player and jumped ship to follow your lover. You will probably do so again when ALex leaves here...

Is that too fast for YOU?

Wasn't the point, but it's no surprise the point eluded you.

We have different definitions of what a fan is. I accept both of the following. You do not.

I believe any person that puts one team's success above all others is a fan of that team. Even if that person switches teams every damn year... so long as he wants that team to win... derives enjoyment and excitement from that team's success above all others.. he or she is indeed a fan of that team.

You believe any person that stays with a team.. for life.. no matter what.. is the only real definition of a team fan.

To each his own. thanks above for giving man free will.
