Do you old folks have a retirement plan in place? How much money will you have saved for your retirement? I'm 60 and it's weighing on my mind. I'm wondering if I'm going to have enough retirement $ saved up.

I got started in tech early. There wasn’t a consensus yet that .com was going to be the main domain. Most of the domains were still available. La, NY, all the states, furniture.com, music, movies, shopping.com were all there. It cost $75 to register a domain back then. To cover all the main ones, I’d been out $250 on each domain. Did people really make money off that, or did the big companies just throw lawyers at them and force them into bankruptcy? I read something the other day about the guy who owned nissan.com, and his fight with the car company. Check out www.nissan.com.

They have talked about it. But nothing yet. Not sure they can afford the plans. If 55 rolls around and they put together a good package. I will.

when the tech boom happened they all sold for millions. When the tech bubble burst, not worth more than $5-$10k, nice money but not retirement money. I and every other tech saw the bubble burst coming to. I think l would have sold. You could see this wasn’t going to be like getting in early on Apple.

Your making $50k for 45 years that’s $2.2 million. Your supposed to take care of kids, pay a mortgage etc on $700K over 45 years? 15.5K a year? Good luck with that.

The advice I received when I was 19 (50 years ago) was pay yourself first. $5-$50 whatever, each week and that compound interest is your friend. You don't a new car every 5 or 6 years. You don't need a boat, jet ski. You need to think about the future NOW and be responsible with your money. In short, DON'T TRY KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES!!!!! Be frugal in everything you do.

Yes, I believe that some do not understand saving and what it can do.
When that tax money comes, when the extra money on pay checks come, when the stimulus money comes--what is the first thing people do? Spend!!!!!!
