Question for you all—what do you think about potentially adding quick development traits to some worthy players who for some reason haven’t gotten it?

I’m thinking of guys like Wentz, Watson, Mahomes possibly, Hunt, Kamara, etc...

If you don’t want to I get it, but I can also see why it makes sense to give some of them a bump before the draft.

Wentz, Hunt and Kamara, yes.

Watson and Mahomes, no. The sample size is too small to just award them that trait.

Yeah, it’s tiered. Obviously, with each round the salary goes down. Also, the years of their contract decreases too. 5 year deals go to your earlier picks, then 4, then 3, and so on.

Free agency won’t be very good until year 2 or 3 because all of the good players are under contract for a few years.

Nope, it’s all based on where the player is selected.

I think the first round picks usually have a cap hit up around $12M per year. And while that’s lower than many you’d see today, you also will pay some players more than they might be worth in the middle to late rounds.
