This movie was digitally remastered recently. Has anyone seen it and if so, how does it look?

Wil Wheaton played Alex' friend in The Last Starfighter, but his scenes were cut?

Hadn't heard that. Considering how primitive the CGI was in that movie, though, I think they'd need to go well beyond remastering. The visuals were groundbreaking back in 1984, but now they're the equivalent of the Wright Brothers' first flight in a world of jets.

There are two different versions of The Last Starfighter out there. There's a 2009 "25th Anniversary", which was just a straight digital transfer and a 2020 4K scan and Remaster, which is what I'd be interested in purchasing. |

You have to appreciate The Last Starfighter for being one of the pillars that future visual effects were built upon.
Plus the story is just good clean fun, with a hilariously cheesy villain, and a great score. It's like a live-action cartoon.
