NFL.com Mock Draft
I wouldn't hate this at all, but you all know I like Hyatt.
https://www.nfl.com/news/four-round-...colts-trade-up Pick 22 Kansas City Chiefs: Jalin Hyatt Tennessee · WR · Junior PROJECTED TRADE WITH BALTIMORE RAVENS Opinions are mixed about Hyatt's ability to become a true No. 1 receiver in the NFL, but the Chiefs' offense will play to his strengths: gliding past defenders in the open field and weaving through traffic to make short passes into long gains. The Ravens dealt second- and fifth-round picks to the Bears for linebacker Roquan Smith last fall, so adding a third- and fourth-rounder from the Chiefs in this trade will help build depth. |

WR, RB, TE and OT, no defensive picks in this 4 round mock. I don't think so.

The closer we get to the draft, the more I think Hyatt is their guy barring a trade for Hopkins or signing OBJ.

I just don't see it in Hyatt. I personally don't see the value in trading up for him- in Veach I trust though.

Best fit WR IMO
I don't see us paying that to go up and get him though Last edited by Couch-Potato; 03-24-2023 at 03:36 PM.. |

I like Hyatt a lot.
But Wright was still on the board at the time the trade would've been made, as was Harrison, McDonald, Johnston, White, Flowers, Dawand Jones and Foskey. With that much talent that fits on the board and viable 1st round picks, I wouldn't be making that trade. Then if the draft board fell as that mock has it, I'd have been just fine taking Harrison or Johnston at 31 (maybe even Jones or White) and keeping my 3rd/4th round picks. There's just no way I make that deal. Then based on the mock, I probably take Hall in the 2nd, though Gibbs would be fine. So with that board I'm going: 1: Harrison 2: Hall 3: Achane 4: AT Perry So I've effectively traded Jalen Hyatt for Anton Harrison, Devon Achane and AT Perry. I'm sorry but this ain't a draft I'm real interested in trading up in at this point, especially not at the cost of picks in the 2nd or 3rd rounds of the draft where there's some real nice depth. Even into the 4th there will be DTs and developmental WRs that can really help bolster our depth. Moving picks is a bad idea in this draft, IMO. Especially to move around in the 20s where there's just very little separation in the respective prospects.

I still wonder how many mocks these guys put together. And do they use these sorts of simulations or do they assign out teams for their coaching/scouting staff to scout up and make picks for.
It would be such an invaluable exercise leading up to a draft. You get such a good feel for how dire the need to move around in the draft would be. You'd REALLY get a good feel for tiers and depth. I just can't imagine there's any way the board looks like that and Veach thinks "Yeah, I HAVE to move up to get a Dude here or I'm gonna be left holding my dick at 31..." I'm sure he's done these same exercises and knows where the depth of this draft lies.

AT Perry or Jonathan Mingo? Mingo is a couple.i ches shorter but is still 6'3", and pretty fast. Also he just looks like a natural catching the ball. Sign me up

Didn't realize this was a trade up. No thanks. If you're going to get aggressive, go eat one of the top 3 guys, specifically Johnston.

Would love Gibbs at 63. Was just watching his highlight tpe and he and Pacheco would be unstoppable.
