Most of the Alt country stuff leaves me kinda hollow cause it sounds hollow. I figure its because its already been done and the bar is set and the majority of these acts couldn't make it as alt rockers. I'm saying they are the pbr of hillbilly music. A 5$ 12 pack for 13$ cause kids think its gritty cool nostalgia. **** them pussies.

This is kind of stretching the country label, but whatever.
Some cowpunk-ish songs from my collection. |

Changing tact, I was a big fan of Sherrie Austin back in the late '90's. She was a little more mainstream than I usually listen to but I really liked her first few albums anyway. That fact that she was smokin' hot didn't hurt either.

Bump.
I just heard a song on the radio yesterday and wondered, "Who the hell is that?" I haven't even paid much attention to the lyrics yet, but what a great-sounding song. And that thing this girl does with her tongue while singing is...interesting. |

Still can't get enough of the Turnpike Troubadours. They don't have a song I don't like. |

Decent one by Mickey and the Motorcars. I couldn't find one that isn't live.

Go on Home by Chris Knight. I'm not sure I like all of his stuff, but this one is good.

I can't decide whether I'm into the Josh Abbot Band or whether they just have a couple songs I like. Either way, these are pretty good IMO.
