*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition! No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

My wife is a vegetarian. We eat a LOT of beans (lentils, black, garbanzo).
We also fart a lot.

I cook the great northerns for about 4 hours - it's very easy - I keep it simple - but it's perfect.
I put a bunch of cubed ham - bag of great northerns - I go about two inches of water above the bean level - I add the 'included' pack of ham flavoring - one whole vidalia onion - salt and pepper (plenty - it's a lot of volume there) - 4 large tablespoons of bacon grease - you can also drizzle olive oil in there - as it cooks - I like doing that - plus it's good for your skin IIRC. But yeah man that's it - and then be sure it goes for about 4 hours - I've heard if you cook them longer it'll decrease the gas effect a little bit. Add kale if you choose, You could get nutty and add andouille sausage as well. Don't ****ing saute the onions either - because you want it in there from raw state for optimum flavor release. |

Oh it ends up being right there along those lines - it basically becomes soup - it's really delicious - I used to hate beans - I feel wholesome eating the bean - I feel refreshed - almost more 'American' - It's really weird but they're one of my favorite things to eat in the winter.

Nope. It's a bean, man. If you want it in your macros, go for it.

No, you don't carb load with beans. Too much fiber.

Silock will you try the Great Northerns? Just do as I'd mentioned - if you don't save your bacon grease from time to time - just throw bacon in cubed from raw state - next time you carb up - try it - try it before it starts to get warm out - I know you'll like them a lot. Very nice bean there - that Great Northern.

I don't eat beans. I just don't like them very much. I'd rather eat other stuff. But if I ever do eat beans, I'll try some.
