Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Um, the guy selling me the product had some crazy ass story for while he was stockpiling nearly a quarter million rounds of .223/5.56MM that I didn't quite buy. Turns out he had the right idea, just the wrong "story" to go from.

Sadly given the rush on 9mm the effectiveness of your 229 might depend upon how hard you can throw it for a while(and I have a sig MK25 showing up soon too).

I got the 40 but your point remains valid.

Bushmaster has AR mags available for order on their site. The 30rd mags are $22, 40rd mags are $26. Its been tough finding mags lately; there has quite a run on them, and a lot of price gouging.

I am afraid the manufacturers know that people will pay a lot more for gear now, and they will set their pricing accordingly. I don't blame them, either.
Say goodbye to $10 pmags and $700 AR's even when they don't pass a ban on them. |

Magpul will probably stick to their prices, they are publicly criticizing dealers selling for high prices.

I've never been a big fan of the pmags, and I already have an AR, so not a big deal there. I want a Sig 556 7.62 now, but can't find jack. Even my buddies who have FFLs are saying the market is "dry". Goddamn politicians...

I wonder what the timeframe will be before the panic dies down and the prices drop back down to normal? I'd say 4-6 months.

2 months on bullets and powder, 3-4 months on mags. AR's will start showing up in stores everywhere in about 5-6 months. There will be a lot of bleeding assholes from panicked buyers when nothing happens. |

If no legislation restricts them, I believe we will see cheap ARs again, there will be a lot of never fired rifles hitting the market for sale, combined with the manufacturers trying to sell product and competing with themselves and private party sales, also combined with massive amounts of rifles being produced right now, it is safe to say that if no legislation occurs we might see some of the cheapest (low price not quality) ARs in history.
Of course this all wild speculation and wishful thinking on my part. Posted via Mobile Device |

Manufacturers are not stupid. Production will stay at the normal pace, inventory tight, prices will stabilize but high.

so, I'm getting my CCW class knocked out and getting my permit instead. I'll continue my 1911 pursuit after the panic dies down. Imagine these poor assholes that probably paid $1000 for a ATI 1911. lol
