How about Sword and the Sorcerer. Cheesy and cheap, but definitely had some cool aspects to it, and Lee Horsley was great as Talon. And also I'm fairly convinced that the wedding scene toward the end of this was the inspiration for GoT's Red Wedding. Although this one ended much better for the good guys.

I never really cared for Beastmaster. Definitely loved Conan and Excalibur, though. Those, Star Trek II and Blade Runner are my favorite high school era movies.
