Let us bask in the excellence of this draft class.
Veach's draft class has been packed full of contributors this year. It's fascinating how thoroughly he crushed not only the draft but the undrafted market as well.
1st round: RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire 2nd round: LB Willie Gay Jr. 3rd round: OT Lucas Niang 4th round: CB L'Jarius Sneed 5th round: DE Michael Danna 7th round: CB BoPete Keyes UDFA contributors: DT Tershawn Wharton, P Tommy Townsend, OL Yasir Durant We've got questions still about Niang and Keyes, but everything else looks to be rock solid. The crazy thing is how many of these guys earned significant playing time. Wharton, Danna, and Sneed all earned a ton of playing time on the defensive side, and they're only going to get a ton better. Sneed could very well end up a Pro Bowler, and Wharton legitimately has Chris Jones upside with a full offseason of strength and conditioning. As soon as Clyde gets his pass protection down, he's going to become Joseph Addai in this offense. The 2021 offseason was always going to be a very difficult one, with huge questions emerging at several positions, but the huge success of this draft class is going to make it far more manageable. |

Sneed is the best draft pick Veach has made so far.
He can flat out play. |

I love to be an arm chair GM, but its just really hard to bang on Veach.
These guys had an impact in year one, imagine what they are going to contribute in year two? I had away thought we would have to do a mini rebuild after this year. Now that means we are probably still a playoff team, but too many holes to be a real Super Bowl contender. Now I don't think that will be the case. Future looks bright and the window is wide open, even with our current line issues. |

If you can get 5 of your 1st year players from your draft class to be contributors/major role players, then you've done your job.
This team really needs LB and OL depth though...bad. I'd be down with BPA in the draft but with Fisher being out probably all of next season and the uncertainty that surrounds Schwartz's future here, Chiefs would be smart to invest heavily into OL and early. Yes they get back some players next yr, but Niang is still an unknown, and it sucks he didn't get his feet wet in the NFL this yr. Would also like to have another pass rusher. DE's just javen't gotten to the QB a lot this year. Clark talks about doing the small textbook things that dont show up on stat sheets. Well, he got paid a giant contract for his services of sacking the QB, and he just hasn't been doing that with exception to BUF game.

If the draft were done over , Sneed would be a top 15 pick
