Let me explain this shit since people never, ever, ever get it.

In the prequel trilogy you have Jedi at their peak ACTUALLY TRYING TO KILL EACH OTHER. The greatest duelists ever, in their prime, trying to slice bitches up. So the lightsaber fights are appropriately awesome.

In the original trilogy there are three duels:

1. A robot vs an old man who really isn't trying to kill him anyway.

2. A n00b kid who knows only a few basic lightsaber techniques vs a robot who isn't trying to kill him and is really just toying with him.

3. A slightly less-n00b kid who is conflicted about killing his opponent vs a robot who, again, isn't trying to kill him at all and thinks he wants to take him out for ice cream after, anyway.

So yes, there is some gray area in there where the technology at the time limited how awesome the duels could be, BUT THEY WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE AWESOME.

THEY WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT LIGHTSABER GLOWSTICK WANKERY.

**** your choreography. It has nothing to do with the emotion or the characters or the narrative that was delivered PERFECTLY in each and every one of those duels.

And that is why the prequels suck ass.
