I actually feel stupid for not realizing this sooner.
It's literally cheaper to keep the better all around player; and you'll pick up a high pick too.
I mean it's kind of a no-brainer.
You draft a DE with the Ford pick and then next year you can cut Houston with only $1.5 m dead cap.
There's no ****ing way that's not the plan.
Either way it goes you're going to get at least a #2 for Ford. You'll have 4 picks in the first two rounds. Even if you stand pat, you can get a CB, a S, and a DE in that first 64 picks.
