Melvin may have been slightly pissed that the Chiefs gave his #24 jersey away to Skyy Moore and maybe thought Chiefs should have negotiated with him rather than use the UFA tag.
Ogbah would be our best DE by far and Phillips was I think the 18th overall pick last season and had a really nice year.

His path to playing time in KC was MUCH clearer.

He took the extra earning potential. And I think we knew he would and that's why we offered the tender.
