Though, I think Gary Johnson could be a good late round pick for us.
- LB Gary Johnson is not a guy this agent is after, but he said he wishes he would have tried to get in on him earlier and be in the running. "It's too late at this point" to start trying to court these guys, he said. Teams don't currently know what to make of Johnson's size and see him as a tweener or possibly dime linebacker. (As an aside, this is the reason I thought he would be an excellent All-Star game option -- the All-Star games always feature players of intrigue and cross-positional versatility for teams to see how they might be best utilized through an entire week of practice). But with his speed and nose for the football, "you know he can be a special teams ace" at the least. This aspect of Johnson's game make him appealing as a potential client, because even fringe-prospects at positions like LB stand so much greater a chance at making a 53-man roster by being important in the special teams phase.
