Nothing wrong with emotions. Just depends how they're channeled and expressed. This includes expressing displeasure with unethical behavior, non-compliance and/or poor quality work.

The problems that come from family business are always personal problems, not inherent problems with operating a business with family members. Period.
And you don't have to operate without emotion, particularly in creative environments like you operate in. But you have to separate yourself from emotion to make business decisions, money, personnel, evaluations, etc.
Bottom line though, problems in family business are always personal, not inherent problems with family businesses.
