Typically, even home routers will have logs which report errors. I have my own router and use the cable modem supplied. That also has WIFI and router capabilities. It has to be put into pass through mode which effectively disables the NAT functionality and my own router handles that. There were times where the cable company would re-enable the WIFI and router capabilities of the modem which would interfere with my own router. Effectively, double NAT which caused lots of lost connections and odd issues.

I think a lot of the legacy settings some of us older people are used to are probably gone with the mesh routers and phone guided setups. There used to be settings where you could determine how long a device would hold an address. You might also check to be sure that unwanted devices aren't connecting and causing you troubles. That should be in the logs.
