There have been rumors that Del Rio more than wore out his welcome in Denver. An Oakland blogger even claimed that Del Rio and Elway got into an altercation at some point last year.
As for how he'll do in Oakland, I think Del Rio will be good for them. He can instill a fighting spirit in their players and they won't be pushovers anymore. Players didn't respect Dennis Allen, Del Rio won't have that problem.
