If felt like they went out of their way to make it confusing and so fast paced you couldn't really think about the plot much. The audio was quiet and often muffled by the constant action and explosions. The plot was kind of a mess. It worked so hard to build intrigue and mystery, but never really explained things very well. The time inverted objects stuff and how they used it was pretty hokey. Even in a movie about time travel, that just kinda fell flat for me. The inverted objects seemed to break their own unwritten time travel rules when necessary. Not expecting them to create and explain the physics for it or anything. But how the handled it just didn't quite work. The time inversion pincer tactic thing was pretty cool itself. But it required me to turn off my brain and quit thinking about how it was supposed to work, in order to enjoy it.

The action scenes were great though. Pattinson was really good, and probably should have had a bigger role. Overall, I enjoyed it but I guess I expected more.

My oldest son (25) theorizes that the movie itself is a temporal pincer movement. It forces you to go back and re-watch it, running through the same events with the benefit of knowledge from your past self.
