believe José Mijares was in the same boat as well in 2012. He was mysteriously released out of nowhere in August with a 2.56 ERA to that point. Maybe it wasn’t for publicly saying anything, but I remember that one being a shocker at the time with no other sensible explanation other than “he was an asshole”.
