I remember Petro talking about Hitchens struggling throughout the season and him saying that he had heard from people that the biggest reason was because he was transitioning to a new defense and it was completely different from anything he had ever played in before.

Keep in mind that we only played the traditional 3-4 defense on first down. The nickel defense was basically a 4-3 up front.

I definitely foresee us getting aggressive about getting one linebacker and multiple corners. This guy’s defense was good in New York in 2016 when they brought in Janoris Jenkins and Eli Apple.
