Oh yeah. My daughter gets all manner of shit. Just not between the wife and me.
Before the kiddo, vacations were a nice thing to do an call Christmas/Birthdays. Now vacations revolve around the kiddo.
Doing things to the house definitely are wants not needs. And if it is something (like a dining room table this year) that we need, it ends up being a model or level of fancy or whatever that we want and not what we need.
From the pragmatic perspective, we are just crap gift givers. So there is no point in wasting money on it. So we don't. We are self aware enough to know that the awesomeness of a gift is only loosely correlated to the amount we love each other. And...We are both good with it so we don't **** with it.
It's not a trap either. If I were to go get something for her after we agreed on not, she'd be pissed.
