So if they aren't winning why are we giving up a second and rykov who some think could be a 2-4 dman in this league for two months of grabner. Rykov could bust or not even come over at all but this is too much. Grabner also is shooting way out of his head and that will drop eventually. He is a great fit for this team but if he doesn't resign this isn't good. Shero has been fantastic with trades so I guess I have to trust him and his assessment of rykov. If the devils are not the fastest team in the league I'm not sure who is. Wood and grabner together would be outrageous.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Rykov. So that's basically 2 seconds for Grabner. Ouch.
6'2" 216 lbs LD playing well in the KHL. He's probably 2/3 years away from the NHL.
My guess is the Devils think they have a 3 year window, (including this season), to be really competitive considering their cap situation. Meanwhile, if the Rangers are truly rebuilding as they've said, it will take 2/3 years to come back to respectability. I'd like to say this deal makes sense for both sides, but 2 seconds for Grabner is still a bit too rich for my blood.
