Yep. A family with little kids on bikes is exactly what caused my spill last fall. I didn't get hurt much at all, but it took me months to get my bike back together and working again. I've only been back riding a little over a month now.
Oh, and if you're going to ride a lot, wear a helmet. I know it lowers your cool factor, and I know it can be hot and uncomfortable, but (literally) every time I've taken a dive I've somehow managed to hit my head on the ground. My helmet is the only reason my brain isn't more scrambled than it already was.
