Considering the fact they're basically re-shooting the entire film, it'll be interesting to see whether or not keeping Ehrenreich was the right move.
As previously mentioned, Ron Howard is known as an "Actor's Director", so I'm sure that KK expects Howard to get the best from all of his actors, including Alden Ehrenreich.
I don't think they can even spin it as "reshoots" any longer, considering Howard's been filming since the first week of July (10 weeks) with no apparent end in sight.
