What I'm saying is that all that needed to be established long before the episode in which the event in question happened...

It was like half the season went by and then they handed you a folder, said "oh by the way here's a whole bunch of character development we forgot to include" and then had her go nuts.

Had the same exact issue with Diamondback's introduction and backstory. This guy's out there the whole time, intricately tied in with Cage (not a surprise in and of itself...), but they never, ever foreshadow anything about who he is or where he comes from. It's just *plop* 'here's the crazy bible-quoting guy!' *bang, bang, bang*

I don't like infodumps like that in any form of entertainment, whether it's a TV show or a movie or a novel or a game. It should have been handled much better than it was.
