Girsch said the second opinion that Reyes got from Dr. Anthony Romeo in Philadelphia confirmed what the Cardinals' doctors had seen and surgery was done.

"Based on that exam and the understanding that, because there was some fraying between the lat and the bone, based on that, they decided to do surgery after consulting with our doctors," Girsch said. "He had surgery to reattach the tendon to the bone and the good news is the tendon was partially frayed and not completely torn off which means there was good blood flow which means they're very optimistic for recovery."
Cardinals only going to get 1 year of pre-arb, assuming his arm doesnt simply fall off the next time he throws, out of a guy who's only managed to pitch 50 innings.
