All this talk about coaches just shows how screwed up Royals fans are. Hitting coaches and pitching coaches are fungible.

Royals should just learn how to shitcan players that are shitty. Just don’t understand why Ryan O’Hearn always kills rallies. He would play better if he spent the whole game vaping cannabis oil or some shit.

Disagree on the effect of coaches, especially pitching coaches.

It’s kind of like a manager. There are only a few who truly make a huge difference. But the bad ones can make their players a lot worse.

Take a bad pitching coach, for example, who scoffs at using advanced stats or analytics in working with his group. Who stresses the importance of locating fastball down. Who doesn’t catch it when his guys are tipping pitches, who doesn’t have a feel for how to calm them down and help them attack hitters

That guy can really **** up a staff.

Brent Strom is a great example of the difference a guy can make. Arizona has gone from awful to pretty good with him running the pitching staff. And it’s not the first time he has fixed a staff.
