I'm in DJNL's camp on Howard being fairly straightforward and forthright, but the possibility that he has a hidden agenda is part of the allure of the narrative.
Part of what might have me thinking that is a trailer where Kim appears to be really really pissed at Howard about something. Made me wonder what would make her that mad. Whatever it is I think it's because Howard has pulled off something really shitty.

Just glad this season is finally on.
