They've overpaid for free agents for years. The fact is that a lot of free agents just didn't want to come here. The Chiefs weren't considered legitimate contenders for a SB even when they were winning the division or competitive.

Clark has proven he's willing to pay big $$$ to coaches and players when he believes they're top of the line guys.
